Guru Nanak Jayanti 2026 (Gurpurab) celebrates the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji (1469–1539), the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikhism. Born in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib, Pakistan), Guru Nanak's revolutionary teachings of 'Ik Onkar' (One God), equality of all humans, honest labor (Kirat Karo), sharing with others (Vand Chhako), and meditation on God's name (Naam Japo) laid the foundation of one of the world's great religions. The celebration falls on Kartik Purnima.
