Palmistry (Hast Jyotish)
Palmistry, known as Hast Jyotishin Vedic tradition and chiromancy in the West, is one of the oldest forms of divination. It involves studying the lines, shape, mounts, and features of the hand to reveal insights about a person's character, strengths, life path, and potential future events.
In the Vedic tradition, palmistry has been practiced for thousands of years and is considered a limb of Jyotish Shastra (Vedic astrology). The right hand (dominant hand) is typically read for current life patterns, while the left hand reveals innate potential and childhood influences.
Modern palmistry considers three major areas: the lines (Life Line, Heart Line, Head Line, Fate Line, Sun Line), the mounts (fleshy pads representing planetary influences), and the shape and size of the hand and fingers. Each element provides unique insights when read together.
